Stay Comfortable With a Geothermal HVAC System

Great Company. Even Better People.
|

A geothermal or ground source heat pump has an indoor heating and air conditioning unit connected to a system of pipes filled with water or refrigerant called a loop. Since temperatures underground stay constant all year in Savannah, Georgia, geothermal systems use less energy than a conventional heater, air conditioner, or heat pump. A geothermal HVAC system can keep you and your family comfortable with cheap hot water, warm floors, and better indoor air quality.

Cheap Hot Water

Since many geothermal systems use water in their pipes, you won’t need a separate water heater. Your system will transfer heat to the pipes from your home in summer and absorb heat from the ground in winter. This is similar to the way a conventional heat pump moves heat from the indoor and outdoor air. A geothermal heat pump can even help warm up your pool.

Warm Floors

Getting out of the shower or waking up and stepping on a cold floor is unpleasant even in summer. If you have a geothermal HVAC system, you can have radiant heating installed in your bathroom or bedroom. Pipes filled with hot water warm the floor. These pipes can also heat the air in your home if they’re extensive enough. Many radiant heating systems have two or more thermostats so that people in different rooms can choose the most comfortable temperature for them.

Better Indoor Air Quality

Since a geothermal HVAC system doesn’t bring outdoor air into your home like most other heaters or air conditioners, you won’t have to worry as much about dirt, dust, pollen, and other contaminants. Since the indoor air handler works continuously instead of shutting off when your home is a comfortable temperature, the indoor humidity stays low. This prevents mold growth that could cause allergy or asthma symptoms or damage your home.
